2. Dates for your diary & future event information

Upcoming events and future events are visible on our Events page.

Registrations are now closed for the following events. We look forward to having you and/or your students for the events:

  1. Sat 11/8: Shuwa Workshops.
  2. Sun 26/8: Junior Speech Competition 2018.
  3. Wed 5/9: Rakugo, Kyogen and Improvised Storytelling Workshops.

Registrations are open for the following events that we are offering:

  1. Fri 7/9 – Sun 9/9: Immersion Weekend
  2. Calligraphy Competition: Application closing on Tuesday 4/9
  3. 2018-2019 JLTAV Idol Competition: Application closing on Thursday 4/4/2019

In addition to the above events, there is a “Senior” Japanese Language Speech Contest Victoria 2018, organised by: JLSCV Inc., The Consulate-General of Japan in Melbourne & The University of Melbourne. Details are as follows:
Dear Teachers of Years 11 & 12 Japanese, please encourage your students to enter.

Applications opened: Tuesday 24 July

Applications close: Friday 10 August

Date: Sunday 9 September

Venue: University of Melbourne

Programs: 

  • High School Senior Division (Years 11 & 12 students): 8:30am Registration, 9:00am Start
  • Background Speaker*, Open Beginner and Open Divisions: Detailed timetable to be announced on our website after the applications closed.

*Years 11 & 12 students who are background speakers are eligible to enter the Background Speaker Division.

6. Regional support information

The Regional Support Scheme provides funding to support Japanese teachers to hold events in regional Victoria.
